Ecostyle Corporate Website
WordPress · Gutenberg · ACF Blocks · Custom Theme · Instagram Integration · Performance Optimization · API integration
Project Overview
The objective of this project was to develop a high-performance, content-driven corporate website that showcases Ecostyle’s products and brand values while supporting rich visual elements such as video-based hero sections and dynamic product displays.
The website needed to be fully custom, editor-friendly for the client, and optimized for performance despite heavy media usage.
My role
I worked as a Front-End Developer within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating closely with UX designers, backend developers, and the client. My responsibilities included:
Front-end development using native WordPress tools
Creation of custom Gutenberg blocks using PHP
Custom theme development without page builders
Implementation of ACF-based custom blocks
Integration with Plugin to display user-generated content
Implementation of a product slider using Swiper.js as part of a team-defined solution
Development of the Contact Us page and configuration of the contact form
Frontend performance optimization, especially for video-based hero sections
Technology Stack
CMS & Frontend
WordPress
Gutenberg (Block Editor)
Custom PHP blocks
Advanced Custom Fields (ACF Blocks)
Interactivity & Media
Instagram API / third-party Instagram integration
Swiper.js (team-selected solution)
Video-based hero sections
Key Contributions & Technical Decisions
The website was built using a fully customized WordPress theme, relying exclusively on Gutenberg and ACF Blocks, with no additional page builders, ensuring better performance, maintainability, and editorial control.
I led the integration with Instagram to display the latest photos published using the #ecostyle hashtag. This feature required close collaboration with the UX team and the client due to moderation and content approval requirements. After researching multiple options, we selected a third-party service that enabled content filtering, approval workflows, and selective image display. I implemented the integration and trained the client on how to manage approved content.
The product catalog slider was implemented using Swiper.js, following a team-driven technical decision, and adapted to meet UX and responsive design requirements.
Additionally, I developed the Contact Us page, handling both layout implementation and form configuration, ensuring proper submission handling and alignment with the site’s UX and business needs.
Due to the extensive use of videos in hero sections, I contributed to frontend performance optimization strategies to improve loading times while preserving visual quality.
Results & Outcome
The final result is a custom-built, performant WordPress website that balances strong visual storytelling with usability and maintainability, while empowering the client to manage content confidently through native WordPress tools.
This project strengthened my experience in:
Custom Gutenberg and ACF block development
